It makes me happy that my daughters and I share common interests such as sewing. A conversation over fabric collections and patterns is not uncommon. When my youngest daughter went to college she needed furniture for her sewing room. I found an old sewing cabinet at a thrift store and a broken chair at a yard sale. Sorry I don’t have before photos but everyone has seen these dated scratched up sewing cabinets at thrift stores and yard sales.

My daughter requested I paint it dark gray. I found fabric to match and also scrapbook paper to decorate the drawers which had a decorative indentation so I just traced that and attached the scrapbook paper to the drawer fronts. New hardware was purchased and added to the cabinet. I fixed the chair and recovered the seat with the new fabric.

Now she has a place to sew and create more wonderful quilts.
