Chalk Painted Table

New look for an outdated table www.lifeatthecottage.com

An outdated table gets a new look with chalk paint and wax. http://www.lifeatthecottage.com

I found this glass topped oval table at the thrift store for $5.00. It was that old 90s colored oak and needed a facelift. The first thing I did was to remove the glass and clean the table and glass well. I painted a charcoal colored chalk paint on the areas I wanted the dark color to show. Then I painted it with white chalk paint. After it dried I sanded it lightly all over and more in a few areas to bring out the dark color under the white. I cleaned it again and rubbed on a coat of clear wax. Then I applied a dark wax making sure to get it in the crevices and decorative trim. I let it dry and put the glass back in.

Now this outdated table has a new look and a new home.
